Improving Academics and Test Scores Number One Goal for New Dixon School Board

Dixon School District Margo Empen said she is looking forward to working with the new board when it takes office later this month.  Following the results of the Consolidated Election Tuesday Empen stated she is always proud of every person who is willing to join the board and do what they can to help the students.

Empen said the number one goal of this new board is improving the academics and test scores for all of the students of the district.

Empen said the social/emotional learning and development will be most important as we hopefully move back into a more normal school system in the fall.

Current Board President Linda Wegner was the only incumbent in the race and she retained her seat.  Brandon Rogers lost his re-election bid four years ago but was re-elected Tuesday night.  The other new members will be Jon Wadworth and Linda Le Blanc Parks.  The three members stepping down are Dr. Kelly Flanagan, Brad Sibley and JR Humphreys.
