Sievio Tintori, 98 of Rock Falls, died Friday, January 15, 2021 at Rock Falls Rehab and Health Care.
Sievio was born on November 9, 1922 in Rock Falls, the son of Angelo and Armida (Bertalozzi) Tintori. He was a United States Army Veteran and served our country in WWII. He married Laura Veracini on August 10, 1946 in Sterling. She preceded him in death on January 23, 2009. Sievio worked at Northwestern Steel and Wire in Sterling for 40 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church and the Rock Falls American Legion Honor Guard, Post 902. He was a past Commander of the American Legion and past president of the Steel Workers Union 3720. Sievio enjoyed going to Arizona for 24 years with his late wife.
Survivors include his two daughters, Norma (Aubrey) Last of Rock Falls and Sue (Terry) Anderson of Rock Falls; his son, Fred (Sharon) Tintori of Lincoln, NE; one sister, Betty Bushman of Rock Falls; companion, Betty Veracini of Rock Falls; seven grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents.
Masks and social distancing will be enforced for the Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial that will be held on Wednesday, January20, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. with Reverend Richard Russo, Celebrant officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Sterling.
