Cynthia “Cindy” Ann Knowlton, 62, of Dixon, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021, at her home surrounded by loved ones and her beloved dog, Bo. She was a registered nurse and worked at Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital with Dr. Laxman S. Iyer, MD, for many years prior to her retirement in October of 2019.
Cindy was born, February 19, 1958, in Casper, WY, the daughter of Ted and Doreen (Stratton) Davenport. She married James “Jimmy” Knowlton on May 23, 2008, in Mendota, IL. Cindy cherished her patients and making sure they were always taken care of. She enjoyed tending to her flower gardens and yard. Cindy loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Cindy is survived by her husband Jimmy Knowlton of Dixon; son, Keith (Samantha) Sherer of TX; daughter, Kelsey (Atley) Bergsieker of Dixon; two step-sons, Barry (Rita) Knowlton of FL, Kody Knowlton of Paw Paw; nine grandchildren, Eliot Bergsieker, Abel Dunn, Arlo Dunn, Max Knowlton, Irene Knowlton, Savannah Sherer, Kameron Sherer, Jessica Sherer, Katelyn Sherer; sister, Becky Ledbetter of AK; and several nieces and nephews.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Linda Watson, Donna Young, Diana Triplett; and infant brother, Richard Taylor.
Cremation Rites have been accorded. A Private Service for her family will be held at First United Methodist Church in Mendota, IL with Pastor Mary Bohall, officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer and open to all friends and family.
