Wyonne Christina Huene, 104, of Dixon, went to be with her lord on December 13, 2020, at her home in Dixon, IL. She worked for Dixon Developmental Center, for 13 years prior to her retirement.
Wyonne was born, December 8, 1916, in Ashton, Bradford Township, Lee County IL, the daughter of Harvey and Rose (Henert) Heibenthal. She attended Middlebury Rural School, graduated from Ashton High School in 1934 and attended the Sterling Scovill Business School and upon graduation she worked in Chicago for several years as a secretary. She married John “Jack” Huene on June 26, 1938, at Ashton Evangelical Church in Ashton. He preceded her in death on March 22, 1989. After her and John were married they moved to Dixon from Chicago and she was hired by Rock River Production; she worked there for several years. Wyonne also worked as a radiology secretary in the Stephenson Hospital. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Dixon for over 70 years. Wyonne taught Sunday School, was a member of the Choir, WSW Society and a mission band leader. She was also a KSB Auxiliary member, Reagan Home Preservation worker, Willing Workers Sunday School Class, Women’s World Service Organization and was a volunteer at the Leydig Center.
Wyonne is survived by her children, Rosalind M. Pate of Dixon, Sharon (Thomas) Leesman of Rock Falls, Terry (Marilyn) Huene of Eldena; 12 grandchildren, Eric Pate, Ryan Pate, Chad (Rebecca) Pate, Jonathan (Janet) Huene, Joshua (Laura) Huene, Levi (Crystal) Huene, Caleb (Stephanie) Huene, Daniel (Danielly) Huene, Terri Ann (Jason )Leffelman, Trista (Jason) Pitman, Tanda (Tom) Papadopoulos, Troy (Heather) Johns; 36 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Wyonne was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Ruth Heibenthal, Alice Krug, Norrene Heibenthal; son-in-law, Ronald Pate; grandson, Matthew Johns and granddaughter, Pearl Huene.
Private Services will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2020, at Grace United Methodist Church with Pastor Rosa Lee, officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon, IL.
