It Was a Colorful Day in Dixon Saturday Morning with Fall Leaves and Brush and Bloom

The weather may have been brisk Saturday morning, but, it was still a beautiful day, with sun shine and colorful trees, to do a little painting.

Saturday was the Scarecrow Day in Dixon.  The annual Scarecrow Festival could not be held this year so the Dixon Chamber and Main Street did what they could.  Earlier in the year the popular Brush and Bloom was also cancelled so Main Streets Jennifer Lang decided to have Brush and Bloom during Scarecrow Day.  A couple dozen families came to the Old Lee County Courthouse to show off their artist skills.  Lang said that was a good amount for them.

Lang was simply happy to know those who were there was enjoying themselves and smiling under the masks.

Lang said several people mentioned how glad they were the event was still going on and that it had been returned to the Old Lee County Courthouse.  Lang said safety was the top priority and having it the courthouse fit the bill perfectly.

Downtown Dixon also saw the return of the scarecrows lining the streets.  About a dozen were built by businesses and organizations.  The winners will be announced on Monday.
