How would you like to get immediate feedback on your golf game? Now you can as the Dixon Park Board approved a request Wednesday night for a Trugolf Vista 12 Golf Simulator.
During his presentation before the board Activities Director Seth Nicklaus said this simulator is great for a teaching tool as it would tell you your club head speed, ball trajectory and other tips for improving your game.
The Simulator would be rented for $20 an hour. The board wondered how that would be enforced when the facility would not be staffed. It was explained the simulator would have an automatic shut off.
Nicklaus stated he was looking at the large metal building at the Park District Driving Range and decided there was a great deal of underutilized space in this building. This is when he got the idea for the Golf Simulator.
He stated the cost would be $21,363 to start with a two year lease. The fee after this would be $600 a year.
The simulator would allow you to golf 16 courses from around the world. It would be available year round and could be rented for special occasions. To pay for the simulator the district has over $20,000 leftover after the pandemic prevented the hire of part-time maintenance persons.
The board approved the proposal and Nicklaus said it could be install and running within a month.
