There is a new disc golf course in the area and its home is Page Park in Dixon. The cement has been poured, the baskets have been installed and soon the discs will be flying in the air.
The new disc golf course at Page Park is a 9-hole course. There are nine baskets that will take golfers into the trees and woods. The new course is a par 27 and covers 1858 feet.
Dixon Disc Golf Coordinator Nora Balayti says, “We went through seven different layouts for this course. But we kept tweaking it and were able to come up with the perfect disc golf course.”
The course should be completed sometime this week. There will be a grand opening celebration coming up on Friday October 2nd.
Balayti says that anyone can play this course, “This is a fun short hole, technical course that is meant for the beginning player. However there are some shots that are challenging for the advance players.”
Discs usually cost between $8-$20, but it’s free to use the disc golf course at Park Park and also at Lowell Park in Dixon.
