Scarecrow Fest and Christmas Walk Not Happening, At Least Not As Before

For many years people in Dixon have looked forward to the annual events and activities.  This year of the pandemic has not been very kind towards fairs and festivals and the lack of kindness continues.

Two more popular events in Dixon will not be returning this year.  This means not returning in the way we remember them.  Dixon Chamber of Commerce and Main Street says Scarecrow Festival and Dixon Christmas Walk will not be happening in 2020.  Jennifer Lang of Dixon Main Street says they are planning a 12 days of Christmas activity with hopes of still getting people into the holiday spirit.

On October 24th the annual Scarecrow Festival was scheduled but it too will not be happening as we remember it.  Lang stated the scarecrow construction and contest will happen.

She further stated the Brush and Bloom that normally takes place during Petunia Festival will be held on October 24th.  The artists will not be on one of the streets downtown, the Brush and Bloom will be held on the sidewalks around the Old Lee County Courthouse.

Lang said Dixon Chamber Main Street will be putting out complete details is a couple of weeks.
