In Dixon 7th Street is Nearly Done and Other Road Work is Ahead of Schedule

The Dixon City Council was brought up to date in regards to how well the road projects around Dixon are going.

During the Monday night City Council meeting Public Works Director Matt Heckman informed the council that work on 7th Street is completed.  The only thing left to do would be the striping of the street.  Heckman said they are now finishing up the work at the Peoria Avenue Bridge.

Heckman wanted to remind the public that there are lane closures at Peoria.  He also said next week there will be closures to thru traffic on Peoria as they finish the job.

Heckman said the difference is like night and day on 7th.  He went on to say the contractor for the first phase of the road resurfacing program is ahead of schedule.  Heckman further said they are 70% done with the work.

In other business, the Dixon City Fire Department has a new member as Dylan Fisher took the Oath of Office at the council meeting.
