What Was Thought to be a Body in the Rock River by Page Parks Turns Out Not to Be

On Wednesday, just after 4 pm,  Dixon Rural Fire Protection District personnel were conducting boat training on the Rock River just southwest of Page Park on the south side of the river. During this training, they located an object resembling a body on the bottom of the river with their sonar.

Shortly thereafter, Dixon City Fire Department was notified of the finding within their service area. Dixon City Fire Department personnel responded with their boat and divers were requested from Ogle Counties Dive Team.

After divers extensively searched the area and object in question, it was deemed that the object was in fact not a body. Search and recovery efforts were ceased at approximately 8:30 p.m. and all units were cleared by 8:46 p.m.
