Ogle Deputies Deploy Stop Sticks in Attempt to Catch Driver Attempting to Flee From Traffic Stop

Just before 11 am on Tuesday Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies attempted to perform a traffic stop on a Chevy Tahoe at the intersection of Barker Road and Mill Road.  The vehicle then attempted to flee from Deputies and a pursuit followed.

According to Deputies the vehicle continued northbound on Barker Road and then eastbound onto Woodburn Road, stop sticks were deployed.  The vehicle attempted to avoid the stop sticks by traveling off of the north side of the roadway before crashing with minimal damage in the 4,000 block of E. Woodburn Road.

After investigation, Deputies placed 32 year old Marc Clarke of Rockford under arrest for 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Aggravated Fleeing to Elude, Driving While License Suspended, and Driving under the Influence of Alcohol.  Clarke was additionally issued citations for Speeding, Improper Lane Usage, and Reckless Driving.

Clarke was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held pending an appearance in front of a Judge.
