The new school year will be starting soon and there is hope the students will be back in the classroom. Despite the uncertainty of the situation it is time for Tools for School.
The mission of the program is to provide students in K-12 who qualify for either the free and or reduced lunch program, with a backpack filled with much of their grade appropriate school supplies.
Organizers say they understand the financial hardships Covid-19 has had on the community. The group is asking for your consideration of any amount to fulfill this year’s efforts. The program is only possible through donations from the community.
The Dixon School District has at this time 1,334 students who are eligible for free/reduced lunches. Monetary donations can be made payable to Tools for School and mailed to the Dixon Public School District Office. They can also be mailed or dropped off at Sauk Valley Bank.
