Sterling Man Facing 6 Counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault, 2 Counts Sexual Abuse

Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) officials announce the arrest of 51 year old Gregg A. Gallentine of Sterling for six counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault and two counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse.

In April 2020, ISP DCI Investigators initiated an investigation after receiving information Gallentine had allegedly committed Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault. A thorough investigation ensued, and through the investigation ISP DCI Investigators gathered evidence supporting the arrest.

On Thursday an arrest warrant was executed against Gallentine for six counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault and two counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse. ISP DCI Investigators arrested Gallentine without incident. Gallentine is currently lodged at the Whiteside County Jail.
