Dixon Council Hammers Out Details For Bars and Restaurants to Operate When Area Goes Into Phase 3

The Dixon City Council met Tuesday afternoon to discuss how the city will handle the opening of bars and Restaurants this coming weekend.

City Manager Dan Langloss gave some of the details in the state rules for the reopening.  These included the table spacing, disposable utensils, sanitation guidelines and the number of 6 customers per table.

The main topic of discussion was the use of Bean Blossom Parking lot for bar use.  Councilman Ryan Marshall, owner of Stables, asked about details, how the seating will be set up and so forth.  City Manager Dan Langloss said clearly defined areas was important.  He warned that if they close the lot it will turn into a beer festival.

Other discussions center on Restaurants.  Businesses that already have space for outdoor seating on their own land still needs to present diagrams for seating and safety of employees and customers to the city departments for approval.

It was also discussed the desire to close off part of 1st street between Hennepin and Peoria Avenues.  The hours would be 4-11pm Wednesday thru Saturday and 11-6pm on Sundays.

No action was taken Tuesday and another meeting is set for Friday morning to adopt the ordinance.
