While COVID-19 make be causing problems in everyone’s daily life, there is one place where the virus does not stand a chance. Mother Nature is not allowing Corona Virus to slow it down one little bit. Many people are looking for something to do these days and a good portion is going to Lowell Park. If you travel to the park you may suddenly realize there is a symphony of deafening sound coming from the woods.
The creature making this noise is an Illinois Chorus Frog. Despite the big sound this frog is no larger than a quarter. The great thing about it, the frog could care less about social distancing or not gathering in groups larger than 10. Teresa Smith of the Dixon Park District says Mother Nature is starting to wake up and such things as spring wildflowers are beginning to bloom.
Smith said come to the parks and just sit and listen to all of the sounds. She suggests taking a walk and see the spring flowers as they show off their colors. Smith also recommends when you get back home share with your friends what you experienced. It can show how essential the job of Mother Nature is=p[
