Dixon City Government Will Zoom Through Meetings and Other City Business

If the Corona Virus outbreak occurred 20 years ago the measure to try and contain the disease would have been far worse.

During this time in Dixon City Hall, the Public Safety Building and almost every other government institution is closed up tight.  But, with the development of technology work is still getting accomplished.

Dixon City Manager Dan Langloss said the city needs to maintain transparency and such things as Zoom allows this to happen.  Most business is online now, but, Langloss said there are still some things such as public hearings where the public can attend.

Langloss said they have already utilized Zoom so they could hold a conference call with area businesses about the grants and government assistance they can get.  State Representative Tom Demmer used Zoom to hold town hall meetings.  Langloss said City Council meetings will be held with Zoom so council members and city officials can attend and not attend at the same time.  Transparency is the big plus with this technology said Langloss.
