Tornado Touched Down in Ogle County, Damage Reported in Ogle and Whiteside Counties

According to Ogle County Sheriff Brian VanVickle the National Weather Service an EF-1 tornado did touchdown in Ogle County.  The sheriff said the first location was at Illinois Rt 64 at Blackhawk and it extended to just south of Weld Park by Stillman Valley.

There were about 12 homes and multiple barns and out buildings damage according to reports.  There were also numerous areas with power lines down and power restoration continued throughout Sunday.  Sheriff VanVickle said there were no injuries or fatalities from the storm.

In Whiteside County Sheriff John Booker reported that around 8:20 Saturday night on Lomax Road west of Perkins Road in rural Prophetstown two out buildings, 1 shed, power lines and trees were destroyed.  No injuries were reported and no residential damage was reported.

In Dixon, just after 9 pm the weather sirens were activated.  Dixon Police say the weather sirens were activated due to a pattern of storms that tracked just north of Dixon and are continuing northeast towards Byron. This siren was activated because there was rotation in the clouds. No tornado was spotted.
