Local Officials to Take Reasonable Suspicion Training in Response to Legal Cannabis in Illinois

Ever since the legalization of the recreational use of marijuana came to Illinois, there has been concern about how to be aware and deal with employees who may be under the influence.

In a effort to give the training needed the Lee County Government will host a half day event called Reasonable Suspicion Training.  According to organizer Lee Ogle Transportation Director Greg Gates, the training time is limited to Lee, Ogle and Whiteside Government Officials, but, a future training could be opened up to the public.

Gates said they are very fortunate to have leading the training one of the foremost experts in the field of regulatory compliance, testing regulations and procedures as well as drug and alcohol abuse awareness trainers, Dr. Donna Smith.  Smith is the architect of the regulations for the U.S. Military, federal employees and the U.S. Department of Transportation.

The training will be held at Mathis Theater at Sauk Valley College on Friday March 6th.
