William F. Schauff, Sr., age 86, died Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Heritage Health in Walnut.
William was born on May 13, 1933 in Harmon the son of William and Ruth (Foley) Schauff. William farmed in the Harmon area and also worked as a Welder. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. William enjoyed gardening, working outdoors, dancing and time with his grandkids. He was a member the Walnut American Legion, St John’s Catholic Church in Walnut and St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tampico.
Survivors include; one son, William (Rhonda) Schauff, Jr. of Harmon, three daughters, Christine (Jeffrey) Vincent of Walnut, Connie Roach of Kewanee and Brenda (Chris) Carr of Princeton; two sisters, Theresa (Jack) Meehan of Pinole, Calif. and Rosemary Wolfe of Winter Park, Fla.; one brother, Gerald Schauff of Walnut; 20 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James; one daughter, Lori TerBush; one grandchild, Zachary Vincent.
Visitation will be from 9:00 – 10:00AM Saturday morning, February 1, 2020 at the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico. Rosary will be recited at 10:00 AM. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tampico with Reverend Richard Russo officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Tampico.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to Horizon House, Peru Illinois.
