Beverly Ann Fick

Beverly Ann Fick 75, of Franklin Grove, passed away Friday, November 30, 2019 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, that was loved, cherished and will be missed.

Bev was born March 5th, 1944 in Amboy, the daughter of Harold and Ruth (Cupp) North. She married the love of her life Randy Fick on November 10th, 1962 in Franklin Grove. They were happily married for 57 years and were very seldom seen one without the other.

Bev was a life long member of the United Methodist Church of Franklin Grove. She worked/managed Bradford Mutual Insurance for over 35 years, prior to her retirement. She was very involved and successful in her 35 years. She was chairman of the Illinois Insurance Association (IAMIC), and was awarded the Lautum Award which is an award given in recognition of outstanding contribution to community, the association and insurance industry. Bev was a long time member of the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC), and sat on the board for 6 years. She was elected manager of the year by NAMIC in 2003.

Bev enjoyed, and could always be found working her flower beds, riding her bike, or playing endless games of cards with family and friends. But most of all, her heart and joy were spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband Randall Fick of Franklin Grove, two daughters Kimberly (Wesley)Herwig of Dixon, Shelley (Jeffery) Pitzer of Franklin Grove; grandchildren, Tiffany (Hunter)Williams, Kyle (Brittany)Herwig, Justin (Melissa) Pitzer, Dylan Pitzer and five great grandchildren.

Bev was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Edwin “Butch”North, and one sister, Barbara Blackburn.

Memorial gathering will be from 9:00 a.m., until time of memorial service at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon with Pastor Colleen Lawrence, officiating. Burial of cremated remains will be at Franklin Grove Cemetery following the memorial service.

Memorial donations can be directed to Franklin Grove Fire Department or St. Jude’s Children’s hospital.

Arrangements were completed by Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon.
