The weather may have been frightening, but, the time at the Oregon Candlelight Walk was still in the spirit of the holidays. A few thousand people still came to downtown Oregon and took in the events, the shops and the fun of the season.
Because of the misty cold weather, most of them stayed inside the stores or coliseum. However the Horse Drawn Wagon Rides were kept busy all night long.
Chamber of Commerce Director Liz Vos stated the night was a good success and it shows the hearty feelings of the people of Oregon. She also said they will take a break over the holidays, then they will begin planning for next year’s event.
The kids seemed to be having the best time as they got the chance to talk to Santa and Mrs. Clause. They all made their case as to why they should be on the nice list. One of the new events was the lighting of the Community Christmas Tree which was well attended.
