Following the Rock Falls City Council meeting Tuesday night, the council announced they had come to a collective bargaining agreement with the local IBEW. Mayor William Wescott said the city approved the agreement for a 4 year contract. They will now wait for the union to ratify the agreement.
Wescott said all of the city workers, except the police and fire, are members of the IBEW. The clerical members of the IBEW actually have their own contract, separate from the main IBEW.
He gave some other details of the agreement, stating that the 4 year deal gives a 3% raise each year to the city workers. He further stated with the contract in place the city can now continue with projects the city needs to complete.
