Fall harvest is in full swing in Lee County. Large farm machinery will be traveling up and down the roadways all hours of the day and night.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office would like drivers to know that visibility is limited in many machines. You should also know they can be turning not just onto other roads or houses but in field entrances. Do not pass unless you know FOR SURE it is safe to do so. If you can see the operator many times they will wave when it is clear to pass.
Farmers take extra time to make sure all lights are flashing properly; slow moving sign is attached properly. Try to allow drivers to get around when possible to help avoid a bigger crash.
