Dixon E-Recycle Event Draws Bigger Crowd That Expected

Matt Heckman, Dixon Public Works Department Head, said he was expecting a good turnout for the E-Recycling event held this past Saturday. He said the turnout was actually far more than they anticipated.

The event held at Reagan Middle School was scheduled to last from 9am to 12noon or until the truck was filled.  By 9:20 they had to declare it closed.

Heckman said their first customer got in line before 8am and soon others followed.  This caused them to open the event up a little early.  Heckman said they are planning for another E-Recycle event next year.

Heckman went on to say they do not plan to have more than one event, but, that could change.

He did say the city will be getting at least one more truck for next year. This way they can handle more people who have items they want to get rid of.
