If you have questions concerning the Blackhawk Statue and why it has taken so long to finally get the renovations underway and how long the work will take there is an upcoming event that will hopefully satisfy you.
The group Oregon Together will host a Lunch and Learn event to answer all of the questions citizens may have. The group will be joined by architects and repair crews working on the statue and a complete update will be given.
Liz Vos of the Oregon Chamber of Commerce said the black tarp is coming down and these people at the Lunch and Learn will be the ones who know what is going on.
Vos admitted part of the delay was government red tape. The money for the renovations has been sitting in Springfield for almost two years. Unfortunately it was never released by the IDNR. It is hoped the renovations will be complete by the end of October.
The Lunch and Learn will be at the Nash Recreation Center in Oregon on Wednesday September 25th at 12noon.
