Park District Always Looking for New Blood for the Haunted 5K

Park District Always Looking for New Blood for the Haunted 5K

Have you ever seen the horror film of someone out in the woods on a dark and moon lit night and they are being chased by a crazed killer with an axe?

If you want to experience the fun you can do so by being a part of the Dixon Park District’s popular Haunted 5K.  The fright filled fun is still a month away, but, the Park District is getting ready for the ghoulish event.

Activities Director Seth Nicholas says they are always looking for people to help out with the event.  As a matter of fact, they hope more in the community will help out with all of the events the district does.

The Haunted 5K takes place at Lowell Park and is run in the dark of the night. Around each corner participants may come across something unexpected.  It is the only event where a flashlight is required and costumes are encouraged.

If you want to be a runner or one of the helpers you can contact the Park District Office.  Nicholas said they have some new blood this year, no pun intended.  But, they can always use more.

The Haunted 5K will be Saturday October 19th at Lowell Park from 4:30-9pm.  Registration is required.
