Dixon Will Seek to Find Solution to Housing Shortage

Does the City of Dixon have a housing shortage?

City Manager Dan Langloss said at the most recent City Council meeting the city has planned well for such things as industrial growth and other areas.  However, he stated the city has not planned well to grow the city.  He said there are a couple of issue areas the city needs to address for seniors and starter homes for smaller families.

Langloss said there is a housing shortage in Dixon and it needs to be addressed if the city is going to grow. The plan at the moment is the city to engage the planning committee.  Their job will be to look for ways and areas the city could grow and expand as well as develop new housing and subdivisions.

In other business at the recent City Council meeting, the council discussed amending the Liquor Code to create a new liquor license for barber shops and beauty salons.  This is in reference to special events or gifts presented to customers who frequent those businesses.  The members merely held a discussion and no action was taken.
