Illinois State Troopers from Sterling District 1 will be conducting Roadside Safety Checks in Whiteside County during the first week of July.
The ISP says they have zero tolerance for impaired driving in Illinois. Officers working the detail will be looking for driving with a suspended license, transporting open alcoholic beverages and violations of what they call the fatal four. This is Driving under the Influence, Safety and Child Restraint Violations, Speeding and Distracted Driving.
The project is funded though the Illinois Department of Transportation.
