United Way of Lee County Day of Caring Will Celebrate Volunteerism

The United Way Day of Caring celebrates volunteerism throughout Lee County by bringing together teams from local businesses, schools, churches, civic groups, and families to complete projects and make significant impact on the nonprofit community. Organizers say this event is a remarkable team builder for groups and allows volunteers to see firsthand the great work accomplished by the nonprofits in Lee County.

It will be held on Saturday, June 22nd, United Way Day of Caring begins with a kickoff at Dixon High School parking lot, then volunteers will head out to over 25 project sites. Projects will include painting, landscaping, cleaning gutters, planting a garden and general up-keep.

Day of Caring would not be possible with volunteers from businesses, groups, clubs, teams, families and individuals.  Those interested in volunteering should visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2MM2YJ6  to register.

All non-profit organizations in Lee County are eligible to submit project proposals.  United Way is also looking to help Lee County residents with physical limitations with basic lawn services.
