Dixon Police Discussing What to do About Problems at Dixon Riverfront

The Dixon Riverfront is a popular place and it is used for many activities and events. However, it cannot be monitored at all times.

Over the summer so far there have been incidents as well as vandalism at the Riverfront Park, particularly at night.

Lt. Brad Sibley of the Dixon Police Department says there has been discussion about what to do about it.  Sibley said it seems the same people are causing the problems over and over again.

It was stressed that if someone sees something, let the police know about it.

Sibley said they are looking at making the pavilion a no smoking area. He also spoke of a no loitering policy at the Riverfront.

Sibley in the past has said they will be trying to have a greater presence at the Riverfront, however, officers on patrol cannot stay at the park all the time and cameras cannot be monitored 24/7.
