Megen Lynn Lewis, 43, of Dixon, died Saturday, June 1, 2019, at AMITA Health Mercy Medical Center Aurora, IL.
Megen was born, June 30, 1975, in Dixon, IL, the daughter of Stanley and Sandra (Butler) Lewis. She enjoyed running and walking outdoors with her friends. Megen loved do to do yard work and gardening. She attended Dixon Public Schools, Sauk Valley College, Indiana Technical College and Columbia College in Chicago. Megen struggled with bipolar disorder, depression and Factor V Leiden Syndrome (a blood clotting disorder) for many years.
She is survived by her parents; one sister, Whitney (Rocky Stone) Lewis of Grand Detour; two brothers, Jeffrey (Brandie) Lewis of Dixon, Joshua (Darcey) Lewis of Dixon; several aunts, uncles, cousins; and many nieces and nephews.
Megen was preceded in death by her paternal-grandparents, Arthur (Theresa) Lewis; and maternal-grandparents, Sidney (Ina) Butler.
A Celebration of her life will be from 11:00 a.m., – 4:00 p.m., Saturday, June 15, 2019, at the Elks Page Park, 7883 S Lowell Park Rd, Dixon, IL. All friends and family are welcome to a celebration of Megen’s life. She was loved by so many, family, friends and peers. A quote from one of her friends ” one of our tribe is now missing and the tribe will never be the same with Megen gone”. The “tribe” were friends for over 25 years. We will see you again in paradise Megen, as Psalm 37: 29 states “the righteous will possess the earth and live forever upon it”.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the family.
