Chima’s Game Saving Catch Leads Dixon Baseball into State Semifinals

With Dixon leading 1-0 in the bottom of the 6th inning, Dunlap had runners on first and second base with two outs when Dixon’s Talbir Chima made the diving catch of his life to save the day for the Dukes.

Chima had just been inserted into the game in the bottom of the 6th inning and came up with the game saving catch that helped lead the Dixon Dukes into the State Semifinals after a 1-0 win over Dunlap.

Andrew Long went the distance on the mound for the Dukes. Long only needed 94 pitches in the win for Dixon.

Joseph Heckert’s RBI in the top of the 4th scored Finn Brandon for the game’s only run as the Dixon Dukes will now be playing in the State Semifinals on Friday in Joliet against Lombard Montini.

Dixon will be appearing at State for the first time in school history on the baseball diamond.
