Lee County Sheriff John Simonton has announced that the “no wake” ordinance for the Rock River in Lee County has been lifted. Ogle County Sheriff Brian VanVickle said the No Wake will be lifted on Thursday.
The current is still flowing faster than normal and river levels above the normal pool. Sheriff Simonton cautions boaters to be cognizant of the speed of the current and debris that may be flowing from up river. It is suggested that boaters use all precautionary measures with regard to speed of the vessel and wearing of life jackets.
Sheriff Simonton would like to thank the public for their understanding and consideration.
