The Sauk Valley College Board of Trustees met Tuesday night and part of the meeting was a somber event. The school bid a Fond Farewell to a couple members of the staff and faculty who will be leaving the college.
Dean of Health Professionals Dr. Mary Evans submitted her resignation. Another resignation came from Vice President of Business and Facilities Melissa Dye.
During the Fond Farewell several of the staff and faculty spoke freely to the persons who are leaving and affirmed them on their work and what they meant to them personally.
Dr. Helmich said Dye was the best CFO he has ever worked with. He mentioned he has worked with 5 CFO’s in his career and Dye is at the top of the list.
The board also recognized and affirmed Coach Russ Damhoff and acknowledges his recent induction into the Illinois Sports Hall of Fame.
