It was reported earlier that Park District Executive Director Duane Long said he has received several calls from people asking when the district would be putting in the boat docks.
Earlier this past week Long stated the river was still too high and moving to fast to put in the boat docks. A few days later Long said the river had dropped about 2 feet and they felt it was time to put the boat docks in. Long said maintenance crews have been keeping an eye on the weather.
Long said they are hoping to put the other docks in with the next week. He went on to state they were watching the weather, but, they did not foresee any time which would mean quickly pulling the docks back out of the river.
Long is pleased with the docks being back in, not only for area boaters, but for the fact the docks will be needed for the Cabela King Kat Fishing Tournament being held at Page Park.
