The Dixon Water Wonderland Splash Pad continues to be built and Wednesday night the final piece of the puzzle was decided.
After an aborted attempt to find a contractor for the landscaping the board re-bid the project. Wednesday night the board voted to approve the bid from Dravis Landscaping in Sterling for $86,478. Executive Director Duane Long also said another $25,000 will be going to Anne’s Garden in Dixon for the plants and trees.
Long also gave a financial update saying they are still seeking the final $33,000 for the project. He said he is not worried about finding the money. He went on to say they are getting phone calls every day from people and businesses wanting to donate and help.
In other business, Long said the company hired to build the playground at Lowell Park may be getting to the job far sooner than August. He stated they are already making arraignments which would indicate work will begin maybe in the next month.
The board also voted officers of the board. It was determined to keep the same set up with Ron Pritchard staying as President.
