Do you have an old computer monitor, television or microwave you cannot get rid of? You cannot put it out with your normal garbage collection.
Other communities have special recycling days, but, you have to be a resident of that community and they do check to make sure you are.
Dixon Public Works Department Head Matt Heckman says the city is working on an e-recycling agreement with Republic Services. Heckman says Republic as part of the deal would give Dixon a $3,000 credit.
According to Heckman the E-recycle would be an annual program.
The things Heckman said they would be looking for are computer monitors, television sets, microwaves and the like. Currently, there is an appliance recycle drop off in Amboy; however, these items are not allowed to be dropped off at the Amboy site.
