William “Bill” Lee Naylor, 71, of Dixon, died Monday, September 10, 2018, at his home.
He worked for the Illinois Tollway for over 20 years, retiring as a parts clerk.
Bill was born January 17, 1947, in Dixon, IL, the son of John Paul and Charlotte Mae (Anderson) Naylor. He married Jacquelyne “Jackie” K. Hobbs on May 19, 1996, in Dixon. Bill was a member of Dixon Elk’s Lodge B.P.O.E. #779 and Dixon Moose Lodge #727. Bill also worked for his grandparents, at SW Naylor & Company and was also Mayor of Dixon for one term. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fixing lawnmowers, and taking care of animals.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Jackie Naylor; three children, Lori (Danny) Horton, Cindy L. Naylor, Billy (Susan) Naylor, all of Dixon; two step-sons, Jeffrey Hamilton of Los Angeles, CA, and Matthew Hamilton of Dixon; three siblings, James (Nancy) Naylor of Plainfield, Jerri (Brett) Coomber of McFarland, WI, Joni (James) Fisher of McHenry; eight grandchildren and one on the way, Brenden, Hayden, and Jeffery Meredith, Isaiah and Elijah Naylor, Anelle Hofmann, Crystal (Kris) Horton, and Stephanie Horton.
Memorial graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., on Friday, September 14, 2018, at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon, with the Rev. Josh Shaw, pastor of Hope Bible Fellowship in Dixon, officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Granny Rose Animal Shelter.
Arrangements are being completed by Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon.
